ResInnova Laboratories is a Silver Spring, Maryland based Limited Liability Company owned and operated by Matthew Hardwick, Phd. ResInnova’s mission is to reduce the transmission of infections in the communities we serve.
Dr. Hardwick is a thought leader in the field of infection prevention in the healthcare environment of care and is an expert in antimicrobial surface technologies. He has 20 years of academic research experience, at Georgetown University where he completed his PhD in Cell Biology, and at Johns Hopkins University, where he completed 2 postdoctoral fellowships, one in the Bloomberg School of Public Health and the second in the James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute. Dr. Hardwick’s last academic appointment was with the MedStar Health Research Institute where he worked on numerous research initiatives including the use of antimicrobial surfaces in clinical healthcare environments. He is widely published, including several articles on the use of antimicrobials in clinical environments and the role of microbial surface contamination on infection rates in clinical settings.
ResInnova’s Laboratory tests products that reduce pathogens on environmental surfaces including solid surfaces, such as doorknobs and tabletops, and porous surfaces, such as textiles. The goal of our Environmental Services Quality Control Division (EVS QC) is to reduce the role healthcare and athletic environmental surfaces play in the transmission of Healthcare-Acquired Infectious (HAI) organisms such as MRSA and C diff. ResInnova seeks to protect your workers and your clients from the effects of dangerous and, at times, deadly pathogens.
As an independent quality control provider, ResInnova offers a range of services to help your facility improve environmental cleaning. After an assessment of your current EVS practices to determine your Cleanliness Effectiveness Rating (CER), we will develop a customized improvement program to help your facility reach your EVS goals. Once you reach those goals, we will follow your progress and provide feedback regarding your EVS performance during a maintenance phase.
ResInnova’s EVS QC Program will enhance the quality of your athletic or healthcare facility’s Environmental Services. Further, we will help you integrate your Environmental Services and Infection Control and Prevention Departments as you move to lower HAI rates in your facility. Our program is full service — meeting you where you are and leading you to a brighter future with a cleaner environment and an improved outlook on your infection control and prevention efforts.
ResInnova Laboratories’ IAC certified laboratory* provides the highest quality in antimicrobial testing. Our highly skilled Laboratory Team implements the most current testing standards established by AATCC, ASTM, ISO and JIS and develops custom testing specific to our customers’ needs. This strategy of combining standards and unique testing delivers usable data of the highest quality.
* Our laboratory is certified by the International Antimicrobial Council (IAC). The IAC Proficiency Program (IAC-APP) was developed by the IAC to provide more consistent application of existing standards and the uniform application of those standards among antimicrobial testing laboratories. The IAC-APP utilizes modified testing standards and protocols established by AATCC, ASTM, ISO and JIS. Independent scientists and technical advisors who serve on the AATCC, ASTM and ISO committees also provide technical input and protocol reviews for the IAC-APP. Individuals and laboratories holding IAC-APP certification not only meet initial testing requirements but also participate in semi-annual measurement reviews. The IAC-APP logo indicates that full compliance with international standards and regulations have been met.
