Matt is a thought leader in the field of infection prevention and is an expert in antimicrobial surface technologies. He conducted his academic research at Georgetown University, where he earned his PhD in Cell Biology, and at Johns Hopkins University, where he completed postdoctoral fellowships in the Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Brady Urological Institute. His last academic appointment was with MedStar Health Research Institute where he worked on numerous research initiatives including the development and effective use of antimicrobial surfaces in clinical healthcare environments. He is widely published, authoring articles on the use of antimicrobial technologies in clinical environments and the role of microbial surface contamination on infection rates in clinical settings. Matt founded ResInnova Laboratories in 2014 and is the co-founder and CEO of ResInnova Clinical Diagnostics. Working closely with community-oriented non-profits, he also serves as an active leader focusing on local partnerships and engagement.
